My Hiring Secret:

I have a process, and there are two steps that really decide who I hire - two tests, and they're simple!

BBQ CREW TEST and MY OWN HOME TEST

I have a specific list of questions that I ask during every interview. The answers to these questions offer insights into things like if a potential employee can work well with others, or if they are organized, and if they possess an eye for detail. How they handle conflict, or what they would do in given situations. The questions also include basic likes and dislikes, habits and hobbies, questions about pets and family. I like to conduct my interviews like coffee with a friend; very relaxed and conversational. I want to connect with the person I am interviewing and get a real feel for their personality and character.

At the end of my interview questions, I ask myself if this potential painter/crew member would fit in and get along with the rest of the crew at a company BBQ, and then I ask myself if I would invite them over to my own home. Would I trust them in my home, with my cherished belongings, around my children? If I answer yes to each of these questions, I give them a chance.

If I answer no to either of these questions, then I will not hire them.

I will not bring a crew member to your home that I wouldn't trust in my own. You can rest assured that I fully trust each crew member and I think very highly of each and every one of MY GUYS and I know that you will too!
